The Real Hommies of Jesus Christ... Are You Down?

Just to set things straight, this is not an advertisement for the latest hit reality tv show or web series even though the title is catchy and the idea could probably be used to rival the false, greedy, morally decadent Real Preachers of L.A. and Atlanta!

Rather, this is a serious topic for real people who REALLY want to know what it takes to have a true relationship with the Lord, Jesus Christ. The name and idea of Jesus the Christ is most likely the most popular, sensitive, and abused name in history. From religious wars and false prophets monetizing methods, to Hollywood movies and pop culture, to the Catholic Church and zealous Christian denominations, the name “Jesus Christ” is extravagently used to promote just about any and every vain imagination that man can think of. So famous is this name, that many people, Christian and non-Christian sincerely, and mockingly, call Jesus their “homeboy”. Despite all of this, and for good reason, many sincere people around the world spend their entire lives striving to seek, study and serve Jesus! This post is designed for such people, who really want to know the Messiah and be in a relationship with Him.

So you want Jesus to be your homeboy??? Well, you should! Why? Because He is the GREATEST GOD, PROPHET, TEACHER, and FRIEND to ever grace the human race! Anyone who takes the time to DILIGENTLY seek and study the Bible knows for certain that it is unique, prophetic, and full of moral guidelines and absolute truths that centers around the laws, life, and plan of God, even Jesus.

So indeed we should all want Jesus to be our homeboy so that he can guide us and that we can receive the reward he offered the world when he died for us!

But how do we do it?

All we need to do is HEAR Him, FEAR Him, BELIEVE in Him, and KEEP his COMMANDMENTS! It’s that simple!! However, the key to knowing Jesus and becoming his friend takes something that the world is lacking at the moment, and that is HUMILITY! You and Jesus will never ever ever be hommies if you are FULL of PRIDE and think that you can DO what YOU want, TALK how YOU want, THINK how YOU want, TREAT people how YOU want, and SERVE Him how YOU want! It just don’t work like that hommie!!

WE ALL have to submit to Him according to how He tells us to in His Word and sticking to that code takes a WHOLE BUNCH of HUMILITY. This is chiefly due to the fact that the whole world – especially the mainstream religious establishment -thinks they know Him, but actually do not because we have all been DECEIVED about who He is and what it takes to REALLY be cool with Him!

This is why in 2 Corinthians 11, Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ warned us of “another Jesus”, “another gospel”, and “another spirit” that was not preached by the disciples but has sadly been perpetuated through the perverted religious establishment today.

Jesus being God in the beginning, knew that this would happen, so He constantly informed us on how to serve Him and enter into a relationship with him but in todays “Do as thou wilt” society, many Christians have ignored these warnings in the Bible. As a result many think that they are homeboys with Jesus and that they know Him when in actuality they do not!

To show you that many think they are cool with JC when they actually are just decieving themselves, take a look at what will happen when he returns!

Matthew 7:21-23

21 NOT EVERY ONE that saith unto me, LORD, LORD, shall ENTER into the KINGDOM of HEAVEN; but he that DOETH the WILL of my FATHER which is in heaven.

22 MANY will SAY to me in THAT DAY, LORD, LORD, have we not prophesied in thy name? and IN THY NAME have cast out devils? and IN THY NAME done many wonderful works?

23 And THEN WILL I PROFESS UNTO THEM, I NEVER KNEW YOU: DEPART from me, ye that WORK INIQUITY.

That’s some scary stuff! How many of us really know that you can serve God in vain and or think you know God when in actuality you don’t know him and he does not know you!?

So what is the only way for Him to know us and visa versa?

1 John 2:3-4

3 And HEREBY we do KNOW that we KNOW HIM, IF WE KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS.

4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth NOT HIS COMMANDMENTS, is a LIAR, and the TRUTH is NOT in HIM.

Understand that the real hommies of JC keep His commandments!

John 15:13-14

13 GREATER LOVE HATH NO MAN THAN THIS, THAT A MAN LAY DOWN HIS LIFE FOR HIS FRIENDS.

14 YE ARE MY FRIENDS, if YE DO WHATSOEVER I COMMAND YOU.

See, I told you that he was the greatest friend! Real talk! If you want his RESPECT and the BENEFITS of His great friendship then be HUMBLE as it takes humility to reject your misconceptions of Him, your will, and your FLESHLY desires in order to do HIS WILL, and OBEY HIM!

Pay close attention on how humility goes hand in hand with being down with the Lord:

Psalms 138:6

6 Though the Lord be high, yet hath he RESPECT unto the lowly: but the proud he knoweth afar off.

James 4:6-7

6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth GRACE unto the HUMBLE.

7 SUBMIT yourselves therefore to GOD. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Colossians 2:23

23 Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in WILL WORSHIP, and HUMILITY, and NEGLECTING of the BODY; NOT IN ANY HONOUR to the SATISFYING of the FLESH.

Matthew 18:3-4
King James Version (KJV)

3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be CONVERTED, and become as little children, ye SHALL NOT ENTER into the KINGDOM of HEAVEN.

4 Whosoever therefore shall HUMBLE himself as this little child, the same is GREATEST in the kingdom of heaven.

Earlier we saw that when the Lord comes back that many who THINK they are hommies with the Lord are going to be in for a RUDE AWAKENING as they wont be getting into the KINGDOM of HEAVEN.

Above, it says we need to be HUMBLE to get into this kingdom. I want to show you that this humility goes hand in hand with OBEYING GOD because remember we are his FRIENDS if we DO whatever he COMMANDS! So obviously this means that there are many who say they are down with God but are full of pride because they do not THINK that they have to obey him!

Matthew 5:17-19

17 THINK NOT that I am come to DESTROY the LAW, or the PROPHETS: I AM NOT come to DESTROY, but to FULFIL.

18 For VERILY I SAY unto you, Till HEAVEN and EARTH PASS, one jot or one tittle shall in NO WISE PASS from the LAW, till ALL be FULFILLED.

19 WHOSOEVER therefore shall BREAK one of these LEAST COMMANDMENTS, and shall TEACH men so, HE SHALL be CALLED the LEAST in the KINGDOM of HEAVEN: BUT WHOSOEVER shall DO and TEACH THEM, the SAME SHALL be CALLED GREAT in the KINGDOM of HEAVEN.”

That speaks for itself or as they say, NUFF SAID! Once you diligently seek the Lord, Humble yourself, repent and forsake your carnal ways, and start to observe God’s commandments then and only then can you be hommies with Jesus!
