In our previous post – Pope prepares for Mark of the Beast with consideration of “universal basic income”, we explained how this proposal for a one world economic system will more than likely set the stage for the mark of the beast. This is because in order for a person or body to control who can buy or sell, that person or body must have complete control over the economy.
In this post, you will learn more of how this mark may be implemented and the reward (good or evil) for either taking the mark or not. The following information is from the book, “For Then Shall Be Great Tribulation.“
During the Great Tribulation, individuals will be required to bear a mark in order to participate in the economic system.
Concerning this John wrote,
“16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand or in their foreheads:
17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.”
There has been much speculation about what this mark is. For instance, according to some Seventh Day Adventists the mark is associated with the changing of the Sabbath from the seventh day to the first day by the Roman Catholic Church. However, it is more likely that the mark of the beast is some form of technology. Recent technological advancements are paving the way for much of the world’s population to the economic system of the beast.
Biometrics
Biometrics refers to measurements and calculations of the human body. Biometric technology identifies humans through physical characteristics such as face recognition, fingerprints, iris recognition, palm prints, and DNA. Biometrics have been viewed as a way to secure against fraud. Passwords and pin numbers with debit and credit cards are often utilized to make cashless purchases; however, this method is very susceptible to security breaches. Criminals can scan cards through clothing, buy credit card information from the dark web, create fake credit cards, or simply steal credit cards and debit cards in the mail. The use of biometrics could potentially make passwords and pin numbers obsolete.
Currently government agencies as well as private employers are increasingly using biometrics such as fingerprints, voice recognition, facial, hand and iris scanners to access restricted areas, data, and computer systems.
India has the largest biometrics ID system in the world. Supposedly, to improve the distribution of government benefits and to alleviate welfare fraud, India initiated the Aadhaar system. Aadhaar is a 12-digit UID (Unique Identification) number that is linked with biometric data. Participants have their fingerprints taken and their irises scanned. Approximately 1.2 billion residents of India already participate in the Aadhaar system. This compulsory system is currently being used to open a bank account, obtain a driver’s license, obtain insurance, and pay taxes.
The implementation of this massive system is significant because it demonstrates just how the compulsory economic system may operate during Great Tribulation. Perhaps as the use of cash becomes a thing of the past an even more invasive method will be used during the tribulation period.
RFID Technology
RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology could also be utilized in the upcoming beast system. RFID technology uses radio frequencies to read, capture, and interact with technology that is stored on tags. RFID embeds microchips as well as antennas in these tags. Today RFID microchips that are encased in silicate glass and are about the size of a grain of rice are currently being implanted in animals as well as humans.
For instance, in 2017, Three Square Market, a Wisconsin based company, became the first U.S. business to implant its employees with RFID chips. With this technology employees can log into their computers, make copies, and even buy snacks from the vending machine. Today, approximately 3000 Swedes have been “chipped”. In 2017, SJ, the Swedish state-owned railway company, collects train fare by scanning chipped passengers. Scientists are currently making advances in using brain-machine interfaces, which are microchips in the brain.
So, whether the mark of the beast system is based on biometrics, the implementation of RFID chips into the body, E-tattoos on the skin, or is as basic as what happens every Ash Wednesday when a physical mark is placed on the foreheads and right hands of Catholics remains to be seen. It is important to understand that whatever the mark is during the Great Tribulation it is directly linked to the false worship during the time. But what would cause so many to receive the mark of the beast during Great Tribulation?
Many of the earth’s inhabitants will be deceived by the miracles that will be conducted by the man of sin.
Revelation 13 reads,
” 13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,
14 And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.”
And like the Babylonian King Nebuchadnezzar, this man will attempt to force the inhabitants of the earth to worship this image,
“15 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.”
Furthermore, all will be required to worship this image or there will be economic repercussions.
During tribulation, individuals must bear this mark in order to participate in the economic system. Concerning this John wrote,
“16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.” (Revelation 13:16-17)
What Will Happen To Those Who Take The Mark Of The Beast?
It is imperative that people understand the consequences for taking the mark of the beast. Many, under the intense pressure of being confronted with taking the mark or being beheaded, may try to convince themselves that God would not want them to die. Nevertheless, the Bible is clear. John tells us of the consequence of taking the mark.
In Revelation 14 it is written:
9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,
10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:
11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.
Martyrdom is preferred over taking the mark, because if you take the mark eternal damnation shall be your portion. When I first read what would happen to some of the saints during tribulation I was taken aback. But then I considered the Messiah’s words,
Luke 9:24

24 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.
I remembered the captives Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, who when in a similar situation, said,
Daniel 3:17-19
King James Version (KJV)
17 If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.
18 But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.
He is able to deliver us from any current circumstance, but there are times when God’s deliverance will not be manifested until the time of the resurrection. John saw the deliverance of those who were martyred during Great Tribulation.
Revelation 20 reads,
4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
