LUST, SEX, AND SODOMY; SINS OF THE FLESH (VIDEO + NOTES)

We are living in the last days and a clear sign of that is the wholesale amount of lawlessness and wickedness. God said that the last days would be like the days of Sodom and Gomorrah whereby fornication, lust, and all illicit sexual behavior went haywire! We see the exact behavior today! From Genesis to Revelation, God has never tolerated, condoned, or accepted such wicked behavior.

False prophets are mainly to blame for such behavior throughout the so called civilized Christian world because they have deceived the masses into thinking that God’s law has been done away with therefore there is no standard of right or wrong.

Nevertheless, God’s standard of righteousness based on his law has never changed and thus true Christians must not be caught up in lust and all other sins of the flesh or else we will not make God’s kingdom.

God does not only tell us not to do these things, he shows us how to stop doing it (repent), gives examples of the behavior, and shows us the consequences for either obeying him or disobeying him. In these last days, true Christians must fight with everything we have to be followers of God and not be partakers with the carnal lusts of the world. 

Today Christians want to act like we do not need works for salvation but contrary to popular belief, if we do the works of the flesh, then we will not be saved because we all will be judged by our works. This proves that God’s law is still in effect and the key to serving God is OBEDIENCE.

Lust, which is a sin of the flesh, starts in the mind. It begins with thoughts, and dreams, and if we do not cast down evil thoughts but rather give in to them we are unclean and operating in sin.

Furthermore, it is when we end up acting on such carnal and lustful thoughts which causes us to watch pornography and masturbate, sleep with the same sex and opposite sex (out of wedlock), commit adultery, as well as any illicit sexual behavior that is not within the confines of Biblical marriage.

Sins of the flesh was a problem even in Paul’s day which is why Paul had to preach against it and warn people that came from out of the world and into the church of Christ. Since the Saints of God come out of the world, we understand that all of us have had our share of the sins of the flesh, but if we want everlasting life in God’s KINGDOM we MUST REPENT and DENY ALL THE WORKS OF THE FLESH!

 

LUST:

 

Galatians 5:19-21

¹⁹ Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

²⁰ Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

²¹ Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

The Grace given to us by Jesus’ sacrifice, does not do away with OBEYING Him. Paul make’s that very clear but everyone wants to make it out as Grace gives us a license to sin i.e. break the law. This is no different to what the carnal minded children of Israel thought under the old covenant concerning animal sacrifices.

They figured as long as they had animals to sacrifice, they could be absolved for their sin. This thinking however, was wrong. Although animal sacrifices were a form of grace, they did not cover willful sin. They were established to show us that sin is costly and it is deadly – the wages of sin is death – and therefore we should not sin.

Paul acknowledged that Christ became our sacrifice but he knew and taught that the sacrifice of the Lord for our sins did not mean that we did not need good works. Thus, Paul is showing us that we must not take God’s sacrifice to mean that we do not have to do anything like most of the world believes.

Fornication, uncleanness and covetousness points back to the law and should not be named amongst any of the saints ever which proves that even after Christ’s died and resurrected, we still have to keep God’s law!

The Bible is very clear that people operating in lust will NOT get into God’s kingdom! It does not matter how often you go to church, praise God, and preach to others, if you do not follow God by doing what he says, then your faith and worship will be in vain!

This is why God and the Bible warns us of false prophets who deceive people into thinking that they can worship God anyway and do not have to obey him! The false prophets and the world are going to walk contrary to God but true Christians are warned not to follow and partake in what the world is doing – this goes for any worship, lifestyle, or belief that is contrary to God’s Word!

It is the duty of a true follower of God to denounce the evil ways of the world, repent, and walk in God’s Word. We are to prove the righteousness of God with the scriptures, reprove wickedness and falsehood, and live according to God’s LIGHT. We see that the Light we are to live in is based on God’s law because that is what makes us holy and separates truth from lies and wickedness.

Ephesians 5:1-14

² And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.

³ But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;

⁴ Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.

⁵ For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.

⁶ Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the WRATH of God upon the children of DISOBEDIENCE.

⁷ Be not ye therefore partakers with them.

⁸ For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:

⁹ (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)

¹⁰ Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.

¹¹ And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.

¹² For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.

¹³ But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.

¹⁴ Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.

It is obvious that these laws are still good under the new testament because we just read in two places in Paul’s writings warning us not to break them and those that do will not get into to God’s kingdom.

Jesus knew that the flesh is wicked and never satisfied so he warned us not to covet or LUST after anything that was not ours. Lust and coveting is mental process.

It does not involve a physical act but it leads to a physical act. Followers of God have always been required to operate in a certain mind-state. Keeping God’s law requires a Holy way of thinking! Foolish and lustful thoughts are SIN.

Exodus 20:14

¹⁴ Thou shalt not commit adultery.

¹⁷ Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour’s.

 

We are to walk in the LIGHT and let our LIGHT shine by Keeping God’s LAW. God’s commandments are what guide and instruct us from out of darkness/wickedness and into light/righteousness.

This is why people stop stealing, living a homosexual lifestyle, stop worshipping false gods, committing adultery and fornication, and start honoring God’s Sabbaths etc. because they were REPROVED by God’s LAW and these very laws will lead to ETERNAL LIFE!

Keeping God’s law will stop you from committing adultery which is a result of lust because God told us in his law not to lust. So if we obey God in our mind we will not commit wicked acts that he tells us not to do! There may be an excuse for stealing (like being extremely hungry) but there WILL NEVER BE AN EXCUSE FOR ADULTERY!

 

Proverbs 6:23-32

²³ For the COMMANDMENT is a LAMP; and the LAW is LIGHT; and reproofs of INSTRUCTIONS are the WAY of LIFE:

²⁴ To keep thee from the evil woman, from the flattery of the tongue of a strange woman.

²⁵ LUST NOT AFTER HER BEAUTY in THINE HEART(MIND); neither let her take thee with her eyelids.

²⁶ For by means of a whorish woman a man is brought to a piece of bread: and the adultress will hunt for the precious life.

²⁷ Can a man take fire in his bosom, and his clothes not be burned?

²⁸ Can one go upon hot coals, and his feet not be burned?

²⁹ So he that goeth in to his neighbour’s wife; whosoever toucheth her shall not be innocent.

³⁰ Men do not despise a thief, if he steal to satisfy his soul when he is hungry;

³¹ But if he be found, he shall restore sevenfold; he shall give all the substance of his house.

³² But whoso committeth adultery with a woman lacketh understanding: he that doeth it destroyeth his own soul.

 

If we do not keep our flesh in check, we will be given over to it and it will overvcome us. The children of Israel had got caught up in spiritual and physical adultery (as they are connected). This was a big smack in God’s face because God provided for them and once they had everything they needed, then they turned against God and forsook his ways by lusting and committing adultery.

Many people are doing the same thing every day. Once God gives some people money and material things, they lose their mind – that is part and parcel as to why God punished Israel with poverty. Til this day Israel goes to the harlot’s houses (false churches) in order to fornicate and commit adultery with women.

Jeremiah 5:7-8

⁷ How shall I pardon thee for this? thy children have forsaken me, and sworn by them that are no gods: when I had fed them to the full, they then committed adultery, and assembled themselves by troops in the harlots’ houses.

⁸ They were as fed horses in the morning: every one neighed after his neighbour’s wife.

 

Jesus was in line with everything said in the O.T. God’s law is still to be kept. King Solomon said the exact same thing and so did Moses because they both told us not to lust after women in our minds. Jesus came to fulfill the law and shed light on it. He showed us that breaking the law in our minds is the same as doing the acts.

Thus, we must get the lust in check first and then we will be able to prevent all other illicit sexual acts. Fornication covers any illicit sexual behavior. So if a man catches his wife tongue kissing another man, then that is considered fornication as some things should only be done between a man and his wife.

Matthew 5:27-28

²⁷ Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:

²⁸ But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

³¹ It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement:

³² But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.

 

SEX:

 

If individuals and nations do not get their lust in check, then that opens the door for illicit sexual behavior to run rampant.

That is why some countries like South Korea, adultery is no longer a crime, and in Amsterdam, prostitution is legal as well as sex with pre-teens, and all throughout the world same sex marriage is sanctioned.

We live in a world where wickedness and lustful living is the norm and this is a result of not hearing and obeying God’s holy instructions for correction.

Leviticus 19:29

²⁹ Do not prostitute thy daughter, to cause her to be a whore; lest the land fall to whoredom, and the land become full of wickedness.

 

Whoredom is sex outside of marriage. The Midianites seemed to have conspired to get Israel caught up with false worship through physical adultery.

 

Numbers 25

1 And Israel abode in Shittim, and the people began to commit whoredom with the daughters of Moab.

² And they called the people unto the sacrifices of their gods: and the people did eat, and bowed down to their gods.

³ And Israel joined himself unto Baalpeor: and the anger of the Lord was kindled against Israel.

⁴ And the Lord said unto Moses, Take all the heads of the people, and hang them up before the Lord against the sun, that the fierce anger of the Lord may be turned away from Israel.

⁵ And Moses said unto the judges of Israel, Slay ye every one his men that were joined unto Baalpeor.

⁹ And those that died in the plague were twenty and four thousand.

The Lord God made sex pleasurable on purpose, so that mankind could be fruitful and multiply but it was and is to be done only within the confines of marriage. Any sexual acts outside of that is fornication. For young people, they should know that sex is fun but it comes with work and responsibility.

If we are not ready to be married then we should not be having sex, and if we have sex without wanting to marry or within marriage then we will be in trouble with the Lord.

The punishment and death of the 24,000 souls that committed idolatry and fornication was not written down so we could say that “it was done away with due to grace”. It was written for our example so we could know not to do what they did, to know that sin is deadly, and that there is a serious consequence for breaking God’s laws.

We are still being urged not to break God’s law after the death of Jesus. Not only will there be a physical death for fornication and lustful behavior but there will also be an eternal death which is why Paul warned that no type of covetous person is going to enter God’s kingdom! These examples are meant to instill fear in us because our fear should trump our lust knowing that the consequence is deadly and costly.

 

1 Corinthians 10:5-8

⁵ But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.

⁶ Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.

⁷ Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.

⁸ Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.

 

Concerning men of God taking care of God’s business, Paul understood that the ideal situation would be for a man to be a self-declared eunuch and not touch a woman (have sexual relations) because that would mean you would have to marry her which takes repsonisbility away from the service of God.

Paul being an apostle knew how much work it took to do the service of God. That is why he said that there will be a time where the married men of God would seem as if they did not have wives because the gospel has to get spread which takes work. This also why he said a Bishop must be a man of ONE wife.

With all that being said, Paul still understood that although being celibate and unmarried for God is good, it is not for everybody! This is why he clarifies that if a man or woman cannot contain themselves they NEED to get MARRIED. This shows us that sex and lust outside marriage is wrong!

The Catholic church obviously did not get this memo because they try to make all the men celibate bishops and all the women nuns but all that does is create more problems like pedophilia and illicit sex because most men and women are not able to be celibate, which is why God created the union of marriage!

 

1 Corinthians 7:1-2

1 Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman.

² Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.

 

Since Marriage is honorable in ALL, it does not exclude anyone. Even priests and bishops. This is why there is no law or scripture that supports priests not getting married. Even Moses who was like God unto the people, and Aaron the high priests had wives. Thus, the Catholic Church is woefully wrong for mandating no marriage for priests and nuns.

There is nothing wrong with fulfilling sexual desires in the bedroom if you are married, that is what it is for! But it is not meant for lustful illicit sex outside of marriage. God will judge whores, whoremongers, adulterers, etc. So we should know and understand that it is not worth it to live in lust because our moment of pleasure will end up in an eternity of hell.

 

Hebrews 13:4

⁴ Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.

 

Even though it is hard to keep our flesh in subjection, it can be done! The more that we strive and do God’s will, the easier it will become to deny our flesh. This is why we must fight the good fight of faith. It takes work and it is worth the effort because the reward for overcoming is GREAT.

The N.T. churches that Paul established were based on the commandments and laws of God! This is why we are reading the same commandments concerning lust and fornication in the N.T. and O.T. This shows how many false churches (99%) exist in the world today seeing how everyone believes that God’s laws have been done away with.

It is the WILL of GOD that we abstain from Fornication! Paul had to preach this to the followers of God because it is easy to get caught up in fornication due to the lust of the flesh. We see that Israel is the true church and without Israel showing the Gentiles the LIGHT through God’s commandments, they have NO KNOWLEDGE of God.

 

1 Thessalonians 4:1-5

1 Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, so ye would abound more and more.

² For ye know what commandments we gave you by the Lord Jesus.

³ For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:

⁴ That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour;

⁵ Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God:

 

Sex is a really big deal in the eyes of God. Technically, there is no going back on sex if it is not done in marriage because it is only supposed to be done in marriage. Therefore, as Exodus 16 points out having sex before marriage necessitates getting married or else it is considered fornication which God will punish us for. When we have sex with a person we are joined with that person and become one with them.

Once we come under the blood of Christ we are joined to the Lord and if we commit fornication we are shaming and polluting Christ and taking his grace in vain and involving him with our lewd wickedness because we are supposed to be one with him.

We cannot live after our own desires as Christians which shows that all these “born again” Christians that say they do not have to do anything for salvation, are all in error. Again we see that no fornicators, idolaters, adulterers, and even EFFEMINATE people will get into God’s Kingdom! He is not playing with us and it is imperative that we are not living these unlawful lifestyles upon joining the body of Christ.

The Bible and everyday people show us that it is possible to CHANGE and STOP living a lustful, carnal, and abominable lifestyle. People change from being gay, fornicators, idolaters, etc all the time.

People did it in Paul’s day, and they are still doing it in our day so we should not believe the lie that we are born a certain way or that God made us a certain way. True Righteousness requires a change of mind and that goes for all of us striving to make God’s kingdom.

 

1 Corinthians 6:15-20

¹⁵ Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid.

¹⁶ What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh.

¹⁷ But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.

¹⁸ Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.

¹⁹ What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

²⁰ For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.

⁹ Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,

SODOMY:

If a woman cannot legally be a whore, then how can a man legally be a sodomite? This shows you that something is very wrong with Sodomy and that really, there is no excuse for it.

 

Deuteronomy 23:17

¹⁷ There shall be no whore of the daughters of Israel, nor a sodomite of the sons of Israel.

 

Sodomy is not new, it is abominable, and it cannot be made to be anything good. What was wicked in the O.T. is also wicked in the N.T. as we have seen that people caught up in any type of fornication, effeminate behavior, and lust will not make it into God’s kingdom!

 

1 Kings 14:22-24

²² And Judah did evil in the sight of the Lord, and they provoked him to jealousy with their sins which they had committed, above all that their fathers had done.

²³ For they also built them high places, and images, and groves, on every high hill, and under every green tree.

²⁴ And there were also sodomites in the land: and they did according to all the abominations of the nations which the Lord cast out before the children of Israel.

 

King Asa did RIGHT in the eyes of GOD and one of the things he did right included taking the SODOMITES out of the LAND as well as removed his own Mother (because you cannot put your family over) God due to Idolatry which God also hates.

Sodomy (Fornication) and false worship goes hand in hand because once you start forsaking God and his law, you do not know when and where to stop. King Asa was not partial or homophobic when he dealt with Sodomy because wrong is wrong no matter who it comes from.

 

1 Kings 15:11-13

¹¹ And Asa did that which was right in the eyes of the Lord, as did David his father.

¹² And he took away the sodomites out of the land, and removed all the idols that his fathers had made.

¹³ And also Maachah his mother, even her he removed from being queen, because she had made an idol in a grove; and Asa destroyed her idol, and burnt it by the brook Kidron.

 

There are no if’s and’s or but’s about it, Homosexuality is an ABOMINATION! Homosexuality and Bestiality is CONFUSION.

 

Leviticus 18:22-23

²² Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

²³ Neither shalt thou lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith: neither shall any woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto: it is confusion.

 

 

If a man and a woman committing adultery is not legal and is not okay in the eyes of God then homosexuality should not be legal because it is also not okay in the eyes of God. Both acts result in the death penalty therefore both acts are wrong and this cannot be reversed or changed.

It is wrong to be partial with God’s law. And since mainstream churches and new testament Christians have no understanding of the Bible and have gone crazy with “Grace”, many of them do not even know who to side with concerning such issues and end up condoning what God calls abominable.

 

Leviticus 20:10

¹⁰ And the man that committeth adultery with another man’s wife, even he that committeth adultery with his neighbour’s wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death.

 

¹³ If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

 

God does not change and his Word does not change. This is why we see that in the N.T., homosexuality is still abominable, vile, dishonorable, unnatural, and worthy of death! Many preachers end up coming out of the closet as homosexual because they know the truth but they hold it in unrighteousness and God gives them over to uncleanness for not living according to His Word.

Naturally we all have lust in our heart, and if we do not get it in check, it will overwhelm us. Currently, and unfortunately the whole world is overwhelmed with lust, which is why it is promoted all over t.v., the radio, the internet, and everywhere we look from same sex lust, fornication, and marriage, to adultery, to cross dressing, and everything in between.

The world is reprobate in a sense because they do not want to stop their wickedness and are trying to justify it.

People living lustful lifestyles need to first and foremost realize that it is a problem and that God is not okay with it, then they can work towards fixing that problem. It can be done or God would not punish us for it and would not require us to repent.

 

Romans 1:18

¹⁸ For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;

²⁴ Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:

²⁵ Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

²⁶ For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

²⁷ And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

²⁸ And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

²⁹ Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,

³² Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

 

If we do not change our carnal behavior, then we will have to face the judgment and wrath of God. If angels could not and will not escape God’s wrath, then it is no way that we can. God does not change, and he is going to judge the world again for its wholesale wickedness.

 

2 Peter 2:4-8

⁴ For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;

⁵ And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;

⁶ And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly;

⁷ And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked:

⁸ (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;)

 

Back then it was Sodom, Gomorrha and its surrounding citites and suburbs that were given into lust, fornication and sodomy.

Now it is the whole world. They gave themselves over to fornication, which means they did not fight it, challenge it, or stand up against it, everyone just capitulated and said it was okay.

The world has done the same thing in these last days and the world has gone haywire with sins of the flesh.

God burned down Sodom and Gomorrha and killed the people as an example for the world concerning eternal hell fire because those caught up in these lustful acts will burn in hell forever.

Yet, the world is trying to make like it is okay because they have given themselves over to fornication.

 

Jude 1:7

⁷ Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

 

 

At a point in Israel’s history, they had also given themselves over to sin and they did not hide it, neither were they ashamed.

Sodom and Gomorrah was the same way, and today in these last days, people are the exact same way! No one is ashamed for their sin, they declare it, promote it, and even want rights for it.

But God is saying WOE unto the World for this wickedness because all the people are doing is bringing their own destruction to themselves!

It therefore behooves all to repent from all forms of lust and follow after God with all out heart and all our soul or we will not get eternal life!

 

Isaiah 3:9
