God’s Way – Obedience – Narrow Path – Eternal Life
Highway – Disobedience – Broad Path – Eternal Life
People have been made to think that coming to God is a cake walk. And that since Jesus came, it eliminates responsibility on our part. We have cliche’s like “You can serve God your way, and I can serve him my way”. For example, regarding the sabbath, people think that you can keep the sabbath on “any day”. However God commanded (not requested) us to reverence a SPECIFIC day, the seventh day. Moreover, he has consequences for anyone who refuses this and all other commandments. Many people think that “it doesn’t take all that” to serve God (which sounds good to the carnal mind because naturally we all want to do what we want to do which is contrary to God).
However, that is practically the same thing Satan told Adam and Eve In the Garden of Eden. He told Eve that God did not mean what he said, as if God did not know what he was talking about. This is how we know that Satan has deceived the world and that the minds of most people are corrupt. God is dogmatic, always has been and always will be. Most people that believe that “we can serve God anyway” i.e. without keeping his laws, are “new testament Christians” but the N.T. does not support that belief!
The Fear of God is the missing ingredient of today’s so called Christianity. Yet, God has his life in our hands. Why wouldn’t you fear him? Joshua knew that we have to serve God the way God told us to, not the way we want to! There is only ONE TRUE GOD, but God knew man would create and worship false foolishness. Therefore, Joshua warns for such idols to be forsaken ( God’s first commandment is have no other gods before him). If we are to serve the Lord, we have to obey his laws. For example, we are to go to church on the Sabbath, instead of Sunday and keep the feast days rather than pagan holidays because they represent false gods.
Ultimately, we are faced with a CHOICE. If we do not want to serve the Lord, we have to make our minds up. We have free will, but there will be a consequence with all our choices. Even today, there are false gods which comes with false man-made doctrines such as December 25th being Christ’s birthday (actually the winter solstice) and Sun-day worship, (actually in honor of the sun god Mithra) which ultimately comes from SATAN.
The children of Israel said they would not forsake the Lord to serve other gods, but Joshua put them to the test because it is easy to say what you are going to do with your mouth. Joshua made it known that the Lord is HOLY, therefore we cannot serve him any way we choose! Due to false worship, many do not realize that it is possible to FORSAKE the Lord, and if we do, he will cause harm upon us.

Joshua 24
King James Version (KJV)

14 Now therefore fear the Lord, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the Lord.

15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

16 And the people answered and said, God forbid that we should forsake the Lord, to serve other gods;

19 And Joshua said unto the people, Ye cannot serve the Lord: for he is an holy God; he is a jealous God; he will not forgive your transgressions nor your sins.

20 If ye forsake the Lord, and serve strange gods, then he will turn and do you hurt, and consume you, after that he hath done you good.

21 And the people said unto Joshua, Nay; but we will serve the Lord.

22 And Joshua said unto the people, Ye are witnesses against yourselves that ye have chosen you the Lord, to serve him. And they said, We are witnesses.

23 Now therefore put away, said he, the strange gods which are among you, and incline your heart unto the Lord God of Israel.

24 And the people said unto Joshua, The Lord our God will we serve, and his voice will we obey.

Samaritan woman at the well. Jesus proves that you cannot worship any type of way. God is still dogmatic in the N.T. People do not know what they are worshipping when they celebrate Sun-day Christmas, Halloween etc because it is not Biblical, therefore it is not TRUE. Jesus repeats the same thing that Joshua said: Because God, is a Spirit, We must worship God in Spirit and in Truth and the only way to do that is to follow what God gave to the children of Israel. Jesus makes it known that there is a TRUE worshiper:

John 4
King James Version (KJV)

19 The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.

20 Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.

21 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father.

22 Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.

23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

People have misconstrued this scripture in order to support the false notion of not having to do works for salvation. All this is REALLY saying is that, OVERALL as a species and as individuals, we have all sinned, and therefore deserve death but God, being merciful has given us a chance for salvation by his grace (free gift) of dying for our sins! Therefore, none of us can boast as if we did anything  special for eternal life because we didn’t. Moreover, once we ACCEPT God’s grace, we have to OBEY God because we will all be judged according to our works. Example: If someone is locked up and gets pardoned by the governor, it is a free gift and not due to the convict. The convict deserved punishment. Once he is released due to grace and has a chance to live a normal life, he has to obey the laws or else he will go back to jail:

Ephesians 2
King James Version (KJV)

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Some people come here to purport that “the law is cursed”. That is not what this is saying. Romans 7 tells us that the law is holy, and that it is not sin. Yet some people believe that the law is unholy or sinful. Christ redeemed us from the “curse of the law” which is death. Because he died in our place. But if we do not strive to keep his laws, we will die in our sins and be cursed with eternal life.
The law was our schoolmaster because once we were told about God’s laws and broke them, we knew we had messed up (showing us that we are wrong and needed help).
Furthermore, if we sinned ignorantly then we had to have an animal die for our sins (which directly pointed to Christ has the lamb without blemish). The whole system of the law schooled us to the fact that sin is deadly.
We are no longer under a school master – meaning we are no longer under the law of animal sacrifice (Hebrews 10):

Galatians 3
King James Version (KJV)

13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

23 But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.

24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.

25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.

False prophets also love this scripture. They have tried to twist the scriptures in order to belittle the firmness of what Joshua and Jesus conveyed, which is it is God’s way or the highway! This script does not mean that “all you have to do is call on the Lord to be saved”. There are more stipulations in Romans 10. This verse simply means that all people from all nations have access to eternal life:

Romans 10:13

King James Version (KJV)

13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

We should not allow a single verse that is seemingly confusing to disanaul the abundance of clear cut scriptures in the Bible pertaining to salvation and obedience. In order to mistakingly believe that we do not need to do anything for salvation or that since Jesus came, all will be saved, we would have to go completely contrary to the whole Bible.
Thus, God had Peter WARN US about Paul’s writing which can be confusing if we are unlearned. We also need to be mindful of the fact that many false prophets and deceived people have TWISTED Paul’s writings to trick themselves and others in believing that they do not have to obey God’s clear cut laws for salvation. This will lead to eternal damnation or destruction.
(S/N: If there was a discrepancy between Peter and Paul (even though there is not) then we should ride with Peter because Peter walked with Jesus and knew him longer. And if there is discrepancy between Paul and Jesus (which there is not) then we are to ride with Jesus! Jesus told us that we have to worship God in TRUTH and Keep the Law for eternal life!
At best, people are just confused about Paul’s writings. It is grey and they do not see what he means:

2 Peter 3
King James Version (KJV)

15 And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;

16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

17 Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.

18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

WIDE GATE – HIGH WAY – DESTRUCTION – LAKE OF FIRE! MANY PEOPLE ARE GOING DOWN THIS PATH AND ONLY A FEW WILL FIND ETERNAL LIFE! Why? Because people do not want to be dogmatic, they do not want to accept the strict/narrow path of following God’s laws as they have been written.
Jesus is very clear on what it takes for eternal life. Contrary to the many people (on the broad way) that misinterprets Paul’s writings to their own destruction, calling on the Lord is NOT ENOUGH to get eternal life.
Many “highly spiritual” religious folks think they are serving God but they are not! They think the know Jesus but Jesus does not know them! They are on the highway to hell!

Matthew 7
King James Version (KJV)

13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

Many that think they do not have to obey God’s laws and think that they are “saved” are hypocrites because they call on the Lord and say they are Christian, but do not obey God’s commandments. This tells us that there is more to Romans 10:13, than just calling on the name go the Lord. We have to obey him!
Verse 9 shows us that it is God’s way or the Highway! The way to decipher if we are truly servants of God, is that we will KEEP his commandments! The criteria of vain worship is man made commandments like Christmas, Sunday, Easter.
It is very ironic that many Christians will tell you that “we don’t have to keep God’s laws” and “it doesn’t take all that” to serve God, but then they will turn around and celebrate man made traditions of Easter, Sunday, and Christmas and do more work and spend more money then we would for keeping God’s laws as written. But when you tell them to do what is written, there is a problem:

Matthew 15
King James Version (KJV)

Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying,

This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.

But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

It is possible to fool yourself and be headed straight to death. That is why despite all the preaching we do, there will be people in the last days that cry into Jesus (thinking they have done his will) but he will tell them to depart! The mind of man is wicked and deceived!

Proverbs 16
King James Version (KJV)

25 There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

This is the O.T. so it does not make sense to many because people think we do not need to read it or it is done away but it is actually still valid till this day and will alway be. It makes perfect sense for the wicked to change his ways. Preachers today will agree that thieves, murderers, and adulterers should repent. However, there is more to being wicked than just that. You can serve false gods in church and be wicked. God has mercy on those who seek to do right with a pure heart.
God is not on our level. He does not think like us therefore we cannot try to get God to conform to our desires belief’s and ways of worship, rather we must conform to his will and ways of worship:

Isaiah 55:7-9
King James Version (KJV)

Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.

For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Its God’s way or the highway: God gave very Israel SPECIFIC instructions regarding the Ark of the covenant:

Exodus 25
King James Version (KJV)

10 And they shall make an ark of shittim wood: two cubits and a half shall be the length thereof, and a cubit and a half the breadth thereof, and a cubit and a half the height thereof.

13 And thou shalt make staves of shittim wood, and overlay them with gold.

14 And thou shalt put the staves into the rings by the sides of the ark, that the ark may be borne with them.

15 The staves shall be in the rings of the ark: they shall not be taken from it.

Seven generations later, we see that God implements punishment for not doing things his way. The people got modern and used a cart and did not put the staves as requested by God. It is not enough to sing and dance to the Lord because if we do not sing and dance with understanding, it is in vain.
Uzzah did not have bad intentions, but he wanted to do good and save the ark and the Lord killed him because he had commanded the ark to be carried a certain way. This proves Proverbs 16:25 to be true. This is why it is wise to fear the Lord:

1 Chronicles 13
King James Version (KJV)

And David went up, and all Israel, to Baalah, that is, to Kirjathjearim, which belonged to Judah, to bring up thence the ark of God the Lord, that dwelleth between the cherubims, whose name is called on it.

And they carried the ark of God in a new cart out of the house of Abinadab: and Uzza and Ahio drave the cart.

And David and all Israel played before God with all their might, and with singing, and with harps, and with psalteries, and with timbrels, and with cymbals, and with trumpets.

And when they came unto the threshingfloor of Chidon, Uzza put forth his hand to hold the ark; for the oxen stumbled.

10 And the anger of the Lord was kindled against Uzza, and he smote him, because he put his hand to the ark: and there he died before God.

11 And David was displeased, because the Lord had made a breach upon Uzza: wherefore that place is called Perezuzza to this day.

12 And David was afraid of God that day, saying, How shall I bring the ark of God home to me?

13 So David brought not the ark home to himself to the city of David, but carried it aside into the house of Obededom the Gittite.

14 And the ark of God remained with the family of Obededom in his house three months. And the Lord blessed the house of Obededom, and all that he had.

God did not give us instructions through Moses for us to ignore it later down the line. However, that is the mindset of many so called Christians today. It is possible to think you are serving God and doing good, but it is not after the “due order”. If we are going to do things God’s way, it must be done according to his law:

1 Chronicles 15
King James Version (KJV)

11 And David called for Zadok and Abiathar the priests, and for the Levites, for Uriel, Asaiah, and Joel, Shemaiah, and Eliel, and Amminadab,

12 And said unto them, Ye are the chief of the fathers of the Levites: sanctify yourselves, both ye and your brethren, that ye may bring up the ark of the Lord God of Israel unto the place that I have prepared for it.

13 For because ye did it not at the first, the Lord our God made a breach upon us, for that we sought him not after the due order.

14 So the priests and the Levites sanctified themselves to bring up the ark of the Lord God of Israel.

15 And the children of the Levites bare the ark of God upon their shoulders with the staves thereon, as Moses commanded according to the word of the Lord.

The Lord is not anyone’s personal savior. That is not in the Bible. However, if there was a personal relationship with God, no one can claim to be this close and personal with the God of Israel (Jesus) whom the high priests looked upon:

Exodus 24
King James Version (KJV)

And he said unto Moses, Come up unto the Lord, thou, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel; and worship ye afar off.

Then went up Moses, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel:

10 And they saw the God of Israel: and there was under his feet as it were a paved work of a sapphire stone, and as it were the body of heaven in his clearness.

11 And upon the nobles of the children of Israel he laid not his hand: also they saw God, and did eat and drink.

The ordained priests that had a personal relationship with God got killed by God for not offering a sacrifice the way the Lord commanded. They did things their way instead of God’s way and as a result got killed! Their mindset was the same as many Christians who offer up time to go to church on Sun-day as opposed to the Sabbath.  This shows that God is not a respecter of persons:

Leviticus 10
King James Version (KJV)

And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of them his censer, and put fire therein, and put incense thereon, and offered strange fire before the Lord, which he commanded them not.

And there went out fire from the Lord, and devoured them, and they died before the Lord.

Then Moses said unto Aaron, This is it that the Lord spake, saying, I will be sanctified in them that come nigh me, and before all the people I will be glorified. And Aaron held his peace.

Ananias and his wife Sapphira fronted with the money they said they were going to give to the Lord and God killed them! Nothing has changed in the new testament. After Jesus’ death, we still see that the Lord is strict because it is his way or the Highway. This is proof that we need to be mindful of what we swear or oath unto the Lord. This also shows that It is possible to be around the word of God and still be foolish, froward and carnal minded (just like Gehazi):

Acts 5
King James Version (KJV)

1 But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession,

And kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles’ feet.

But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?

Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.

And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost: and great fear came on all them that heard these things.

And the young men arose, wound him up, and carried him out, and buried him.

And it was about the space of three hours after, when his wife, not knowing what was done, came in.

And Peter answered unto her, Tell me whether ye sold the land for so much? And she said, Yea, for so much.

Then Peter said unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? behold, the feet of them which have buried thy husband are at the door, and shall carry thee out.

10 Then fell she down straightway at his feet, and yielded up the ghost: and the young men came in, and found her dead, and, carrying her forth, buried her by her husband.

11 And great fear came upon all the church, and upon as many as heard these things.

We will all get judged by God according to our works. Therefore, we are to fear the Lord and not do things our way because he is not a respecter of persons and will kill anyone who goes against his will. False prophets do not tell us about the terror of the Lord because they are the one’s perpetuating the false notion of serving God any type of way:

2 Corinthians 5
King James Version (KJV)

Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.

10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

11 Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.

Jesus warns his disciples to FEAR the LORD and not man:

Luke 12
King James Version (KJV)

And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.

But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.

You must do whatever you have to do in order to make the kingdom and not enter the highway to the lake of fire! The real Jesus shows us the severity of the lake of fire. People says that it “does not take all that” but Jesus begs to differ. If we are wise, we will take heed to the Lord and obey him:

Mark 9
King James Version (KJV)

42 And whosoever shall offend one of these little ones that believe in me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea.

43 And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:

44 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

45 And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:

46 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

47 And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire:

48 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
